North Australian Helicopters work for some of the top 10 pastoralists in Australia, mustering over 1.5million head of cattle per annum. NAH have been carrying out remote area mustering operations for 18 years. Our experienced pilots all have cattle and rural backgrounds with the knowledge, good judgment and through understanding of the mustering and remote area operations.
Mining and Exploration
NAH work with mining companies like Xstrata and Lagoon Creek resources providing helicopter services for all facets of Mining and Exploration including Site Surveys, Slinging, Mineral and Water Sampling and Corporate Transfers.
Powerline and Pipeline Survey
NAH hold contracts with Power and Water and Ergon Energy delivering emergency response powerline surveys, protection testing and tower construction.
Fire Ignition and Suppression (Aerial Fire Control)
North Australian Helicopters is the biggest provider of aerial fire control across the top end with major contracts with Bushfires NT and NTFRS (NT Fire and Rescue Service). Because of the locality of our bases we have a rapid response time, seven of our machines are set up for fire suppression and ten machines for ignition.
Filming and Photography
North Australian Helicopters has extensive experience in providing helicopters for aerial filming and photography and has been involved in the filming of numerous television series and programs including “Keeping up with the Joneses”, “Troy Dann’s Outback Adventures” and travel programs like Getaway.
We understand what is required to capture the perfect footage or still and your pilot will ensure the helicopter is in the right spot every time. We also coordinate reconnaissance, crew transfers and on ground travel arrangements.
North Australian Helicopters have extensive experience in remote area rescue, emergency services and evacuation, servicing remote communities and transporting sick and injuried. NAH has two Jetrangers and one Longranger fitted with stretchers.
Our pilots have been awarded recognition by Queensland’s’ Premier Anne Bligh for their efforts in the recent rescue operations during the flood disaster.
Feral Animal Control
North Australian Helicopters hold contracts and also provide their services to various government agencies and private land owners like the Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport (NRETAS), Northern Land Council, Kakadu National Park, WA Agriculture Department, Queensland Park & Wildlife and a number of shires. NAH is one of the biggest operators in this field in Northern Australia.

Coolibah Air is the tourism arm of North Australian Helicopters Pty Ltd with operations from Katherine, Victoria River, Cape Crawford, Darwin, Adelaide River and Kakadu in the Northern Territory. Coolibah Air was named after Coolibah Station, a huge cattle station in the Northern Territory and home to ‘The Joneses’ a family who have become recent television stars after a reality documentary based on their life on the station aired on national television in 2010.
